Chris Michell - Short Biography

Chris Michell is an internationally known composer, flautist, sound-healer and writer. She toured UK for fifteen years with top professional orchestras: Welsh National Opera (1976-81), English National Ballet, RLPO and BBC, playing at the Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall and large UK theatres, on Radio/TV, with several famous conductors and musicians. She has also performed as a soloist at Wembley, NEC, Olympia, Chalice Well Trust, Darling Harbour (Sydney, Australia), Wainwright House (New York, USA), in Netherlands, for the Royal Family and His Holiness the Dalai Lama, in India.

She has done numerous radio interviews and her music was featured on a BBC Documentary in 1994.

After the death of her son, Thomas Oliver in 1980, Chris was inspired to compose and record her own music. She set up a record company… ASTARTE MUSIC PRODUCTIONS, in 1990.

In 1991 she got a record deal in USA with World Discs, then Northsound Music 1995, and her music was widely sold in USA. She also had deals with Oreade Music, Netherlands and New World in Australia.

She has released fifteen albums, notably DOLPHIN LOVE, which has sold over half a million copies. Through her music and presentations, she raises money and awareness for Tibetans, Whale and Dolphin Conservation and the Peace Movement.

She was educated at the University of Liverpool and the Guildhall School of Music, London. She is also a qualified teacher and therapist.
